I'm Claudia, founder of Take A Vow Portugal.
Before this, I spent years working in arts and culture in London - most recently as a National Programmes Manager at one of the UK's leading national galleries, and before that as a project manager at one of London's most iconic museums.
What drew me into that world in the first place was family history. I was fascinated by how archaeology and anthropology trace the way families build their legacy over generations - and marriage sits right at the centre of that. It's one of the oldest ways people mark the start of a new chapter in their story.
Then I became a mother.
When my daughter was born, I made the decision to move back to Portugal. I didn't want to raise her in London - I wanted her to grow up with the lifestyle, the family and the roots I grew up with myself.
In a way, I've come full circle. The same fascination that drew me to family history and legacy in a museum is exactly what I get to work with now.
Why I Built It This Way
Wedding planning as an industry needed to modernise. For a long time, it felt stuck in the past - the same processes and the same uninspiring packages.
The Result? Cookie Cutter Weddings
Couples today have access to more information than any generation before them. But so much of what's out there isn't the right information for where you're actually getting married.
Here's what I noticed: the planning process needed to evolve, but execution didn't.
Local knowledge - how a specific venue actually runs, how suppliers actually work together, how a day in Portugal actually unfolds in real time - is the one thing no amount of Googling can hand you.
That part still needs someone who's actually done it before.
But the planning itself? Most modern couples want to make those decisions together. And they're perfectly capable of it.
